THE WHY

Busy. Hectic. Missing out. This is how more and more of us describe our days and weeks. Not because we don't love what we do or value what we have but because daily life is noisy: work, laundry, school, meetings, groceries, family holidays, social media, deadlines, Netflix, workouts... The list goes on and on and the pace is draining us. It feels increasingly difficult to make impromptu time to escape it all. So it's time for us to ditch spontaneous and welcome intentional. And that's why Jura Peaks Unplugged was created.

UNPLUGGED

UNPLUGGED is an opportunity to intentionally disconnect from the noise so you can reconnect with yourself, the mountains and a likeminded community. UNPLUGGED is a break for you to relive the simplicity of being in the mountains. UNPLUGGED is a moment to play in and with nature. UNPLUGGED is the start of new conversations.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Women who are looking to unplug from the noise of their daily life.
Women of all walks of life and experience who want to re-energise through outdoor adventuring.
Women who crave a non-intimidating and supportive community.
Women who like to have fun and try something new.
Women who want to live with intention.

We are an inclusive community and our retreat will gather women with different levels of outdoor experience. The activities are put together with active and fit women in mind but there's no need to be an alpinist nor an extreme sport athlete.
WHAT MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY HAVE TO SAY
Fun outings with real pros who are passionate about the mountains and outdoor activities. Safety always comes first. And if you're lucky enough to go on an outing that involves lunch or dinner, the food is great! Charlaine, the leader, has tons of energy and is such a positive person, she's a pure joy to be around! - Catherine
I have enjoyed every adventure and will tell anyone who will listen just how awesome every experience has been!! - Nicki
Charlaine, you are an inspiration! I have so enjoyed the activities I have done with you, thank you. From kayaking on the Léman to snowshoeing in St-Cergue, you have helped me discover and enjoy your beautiful corner of the universe. - Sascha
In one word: FANSTASTIC! Seriously, I think the concept of combining 'fun' exercise and discovering (the beauty of) nature, is FANTASTIC. You offer a challenging and exciting variety of activities. - Machlien

Corina B. Doebeli
Yoga Instructor
In 2001 I walked into my first yoga class in Boston.  Yoga has since become part of my everyday life travelling with me to Paris and now back to Switzerland. It helps me find balance over and over again and be more at peace with myself. I recently moved back to the Nyon region where I grew up.  I've been teaching for 10 years and recently I have been experimenting with yoga outdoors. Laying my mat onto the grass, the snow, near a lake or on top of a mountain. Experimenting with movement and breath in nature, meditating to the sound of the wind have become a regular practice. I love taking students outside and explore the possibilities.

Yves DuParfait
Adventurer
In 2007 I quite my teaching job and left for what would be a year and a half of exploring the west coast of the Americas by bike.  Started the adventure in Alaska and road to the furthest southern point of the South American continent, Tierra del Fuego. ,

Artist
There is such joy in slowing down and observing the beauty and intricacy of nature. Sharing this experience has become the motivation of my work as an artist and teacher.
With a degree in Graphic Design and a diploma in Fine Art, I am using a wide range of techniques in my work. The inspiration and stating point is always the botanical realm, from where I let the alchemy of materials and found objects guide me to reveal their magic.
When I am not foreign through fields and forests, looking after my three children or working in my studio, I take care of L'Epace Enchanté. This non-profit community space for art, mindfulness and sustainability welcomes school classes, children and adults for activities connecting us more deeply to each other and to nature.

Judy Okton
Founder of BonJu
I founded BonJu, a Swiss juice brand, with the mission to energise the world through the power of plants!   I also give talks and run workshops on the topics of resilience, work life balance, energy management, healthy habits, mindfulness, intentional living and stress management to help  international organisations energise.

Jessica Théodoloz
Unplugged Housemother
I’m a nature loving mum full of passion about getting my family outdoors. Come rain, snow, sun or wind, you will probably find me in the lake swimming. The rest of the time forest bathing.
I love people, coffee and bubbles. Hence why I also run a local community based group of women, Coffee & Bubbles, organising events and meet ups. Oh and did I mention I co-own an upcycling business, Trees and Sun, centred around wood? Due to my love of trees, it makes sense.

Unfortunately not. This retreat venue does not offer single occupancy rooms.

Yes, the chalet has indoor toilets and a shower.
HOW UNPLUGGED IS THE UNPLUGGED RETREAT?
Unplugged means different things to different people and we get that. For some, it's to get away from daily life routines and commitments, for others it's to shut out technology and connectivity. We will create room for everyone to experience being unplugged in a way they are comfortable with but we may also ask you to challenge yourself a little.

There is no internet access at the chalet.
HOW DO I GET MY INDIVIDUAL RETREAT PROGRAMME?
After you your sign up, you'll be invited to complete a questionnaire where the different options will be given. We'll use your input to create the best retreat programme we can offer you. Some activities have a minimum and a maximum amount of participants that can take part at once so this will influence the programming. You'll receive a copy of your individual programme by email prior to the retreat.
HOW MANY SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE?
25
I'M A BIT OF AN INTROVERT AND I'D BE COMING SOLO TO THE RETREAT. HELP?
We totally get it and we'll make sure to support all introverts and solo retreaters so they can have the best retreat experience. We'll start doing that in our Private Facebook Group and by helping you buddy up with likeminded retreat goers even before you get to the retreat. And at the retreat, we'll keep an eye out to make sure everyone is taken care of.

And in case you just need to unplug from all the people during the retreat, there's plenty of nature and time for you to do that too.
Have other questions?  Drop us a line and we'll get back to you quickly.
